I completed my BSc and Post-Graduation in Zoology from the University of Calcutta, India, specialising in ‘Wildlife Biology and Conservation’, which laid the foundation for my career in this field. I gained research experience working as a Fellow at the Wildlife Institute of India , where I focused on projects on Human-Animal Conflict under the National Himalayan Survey Mission. Following my internship, I worked as a Research Biologist at the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), where I was involved in projects on ‘Distribution, Population and Habitat Use of Endangered Birds like Black-billed Tern ( Thalasseus acuflavidus ) and Marsh Prinia ( Laticilla cinerascens )’ as well as ‘Long-term Monitoring, Conservation and Management of Waterbird and Landbird Communities in and around Bombay’. In parallel to my research work, I have been actively involved in various nature education, writing, outreach and awareness raising activities. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the Department of Zoology at the University of Granada under the supervision of Professor Juan Diego Ibáñez-Álamo, focusing on avian urban ecology and human-nature interactions in tropical Asia, with a special emphasis on case studies in India.

Lines of research:
- Ornithology
- Urban ecology
- Climate change
- Man-nature interactions
